Sexy Dancers will play at the Metronome festival. We celebrate the birth, the album and the decay, says Dan Bárta
Sexy Dancers, who released the Butcher's on the Road in 1998, will play at the festival for twenty years. The participation of the band was confirmed by the organizers of Prague Metronome, where Massive Attack, The Chemical Brothers, David Byrne and John Cale will be introduced.
The band Sexy Dancers was founded in 1998 by a musician and producer Roman Holý , who had already played in the JAR. The band continued to work with his colleagues Dan Bárta , the guitarist Mirek Chyšek and the wind instruments player Filip Jelinek. Dara Rolins was at the head of the band with Bárta .
Sexy Dancers had a short life, but only Butcher's on the Road remained with hits like Slim Jim and Some People. All songs up to the song Sportsmen Bárta et al. will play on the 22nd of June at the Metronome festival at the Prague Exhibition Grounds.
"We will be celebrating twenty years since the beginning, the release of the album and the end of the band," says singer Dan Bárta on the fact that Tata Bojs and the Triphope Massive Attack will be celebrating the 30th birthday on the Metronome . In addition, twenty years ago they released an important Mezzanine album.
"We had the chance to play in one of the winter events, and we found out that we are still enjoying it, so we want to take advantage of the fact that we are still in full strength, basically like that," Bárta smiles.
"It's not a comeback, just a revival of those songs that we can play much better today with our experience and ability than before. The reason we ended so soon was the fact that we could not live it so much," he adds. no big preparations for the show will take place. "We'll go through it twice in the test room." Two autumn concerts are scheduled for the Metronome.

Metronome Program
In addition to Sexy Dancers, organizers of Metronome have announced other names of domestic bands.
The exhibition will also feature the hip-hop Prago Union, the Indierock band Jaromir Svejdik Umakart, the Cold Cold Nights nominated Apollo , the Nylon Jail country band or the young electronic producer Zagami Jericho and her older colleague Ventolin. The Slovak scene will be represented by the indiepop trio Bad Karma Boy. The bands of Grains and Midi Lords will also play their sets.
Tickets for the festival are now only sold as a ticket for both days, but in the beginning of May they will also sell one-day tickets.
