The devastated debris was the king of the jungle. The story of the lion has a sad ending

The sad images from South Africa were shared by photographer Larry Anthony Pannell. He managed to capture the last moments of the scrawny lion, once the king of the jungle who lost his pack.

Larry captured the dying lion in the Kruger National Park in South Africa's repulsion. Skybed Scar, as the beast was named, was a well-known lion who ruled a pack of several individuals. Unfortunately, he was expelled from the pack some time ago, and consequently lost protection, and above all, food he could not catch.

The lion gradually died and a few hours before his death, the California acupuncturist photographed him in his homeland. With a friend, the lion watched in his last minutes, where he had first seen him drink from the irrigation well. "After he had enough water, he struggled to stand at all, and it was obvious that he was literally nothing but bone and skin," Larry said.

The lion then dashed to the elevated place where he fell to the ground. Larry and his friend went to see him. "We found him lying in the grass, he was exhausted and unable to move, we were barely a meter and a half away when he was dying in the shade of a tree."

"I put down the camera and looked into his eyes, it came to me as an eternity, I just wanted him to know he would not die," Larry said. The lion died in a few minutes.
